Ollie C. "O.C."  Merritt Jr.
Ollie C. “O.C.” Merritt, Jr., 82, of Raleigh passed away Thursday, December 07, 2017. He was born February 17, 1935 in Williamston, NC son of the late Ollie C. Merritt, Sr. and Grace Tyson Merritt. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Merritt.

Mr. Merritt was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He also retired from Raleigh Community Hospital and he was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Montlawn Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Merritt, two sons, David C. Merritt and wife Karen of Raleigh and Gary A. Merritt and companion Vickie Irby of Roanoke Rapids, a daughter, Sherrie Lee Ivey and husband Paul of Knightdale, a brother, Braxton Merritt and wife Edie of Greensboro, a sister, Virginia Yates and husband Bob of Raleigh, and two grandchildren, Kyle C. Merritt and Bracy Irby.
