Deborah "Debi" Holmes Hobbs, 61, passed away on May 15, 2017. She was born in Wake County, NC on March 24, 1956 to Preston Ray Holmes and Hattie Webb Holmes. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Holmes, her mother-in-law, Exxa Hobbs, and father-in-law, Gayle Hobbs. Debi started her fight as a Juvenile Diabetic in the 1960's, growing up in the Raleigh area and attending Millbrook High School. Debi worked in various capacities as executive assistant and event planner at Carolina Securities, Sheraton Hotel at Crabtree, and Davidson Jones Beers Construction. In the last few years she created beautiful works of art as a jewelry and clothing designer for children and adults. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for over 40 years where she participated in Sunday School and as a singer in Chenaniah and Chancel Chiors. She leaves to cherish Her memory her husband, Kaydon G. Hobbs of Holly Springs, her daughter Lauren, Son-in-law Chris, and granddaughter Lilly of Apex, her mother, sisters, and their families. Debi was a vibrant, creative, talented and loving woman, the subject of many great "mama stories." She was a remarkable woman, as anyone who know her would attest, for many reasons: her talent in sewing and crafting, her dogged commitment to things she loves, her beauty and loving heart, her humor and spirit - most of all, her strength. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18 from 6-8pm at Montlawn Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held at 11am, Friday May 19 at Montlawn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
