Condolence: Catherine, Tamara, Melanie, and Family, My heartfelt sympathy and love to you and yours. I have such wonderful memories of all of you during Pastor Jack's time of service with First Baptist in Altavista. Catherine taught me piano lessons and I loved it when my sister, Donna, and I could come together for lessons because Melanie and I could play and get into mischief (swinging on vines in the woods out back or having water fights) when it was Donna's turn at the piano. Around the time Neil Armstrong took his first step on the moon, Pastor Jack led me to Christ and baptized me during a very special weeklong revival. Over the years, any mention of Jack Painter or his family has filled my spirit with love and joy. I will hold you in my heart and thoughts and prayers. Much love, Anita

Condolence: Oh precious friend, I know the angels were celebrating your homecoming and you are having breakfast with Jesus every morning. Our sweet church family at Fairview Baptist was changed forever after having you and Ms. Catherine as part of our family and our interim pastor. God knew what He was doing when He sent you to us. You are missed!

Condolence: Rev. Painter served on the Student Life Committee of the Board of Trustees here at MHU. He was a sweet man and made me feel very welcome when I arrived at the university a few years ago. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

Sincerely,

Laura Whitaker-Lea
