Bernard Harlow Fowler, 82 of Apex, NC passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Oaks at Mayview in Raleigh. He was born on December 3, 1933 and grew up in the farming community in Wake County off Rock Service Station Road. Harlow served his country as a tank driver in the United States Army. Upon completion of his service, he met and married Nancy Ruth Dew in 1959. To their union two children, Stephen Harlow Fowler and Stewart Arrington Fowler were born. Harlow was a local franchise owner of Pepperidge Farm Cookies and Crackers. Harlow was a faithful member and supporter of Swift Creek Baptist Church. Harlow loved gardening, going for walks and “tinkering” around the house. Harlow was preceded in death by his son, Stephen; his parents, Herbert and Ruby Fowler; siblings, Thomas Fowler, Peggy Fowler Jones, Rosealma Jones and Zata Mae Layton. Harlow is survived by his wife, Nancy Fowler; son, Stewart A. Fowler (Amy); grandchildren, Nicole Johnson, Austin Fowler, Daniel Fowler; great-grandchildren, Cooper Johnson and Cassidy Johnson. Services honoring the life of Harlow will begin with a visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at Montlawn Funeral Home 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. Following the visitation, a celebration of life service will be held at 12 Noon at Montlawn Chapel. Dr. David Vess will officiate.
