The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carol Barbour can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Todd, Roxanna, and Gavin Carter

Ms. Carol held a special place in our hearts and was the best of friends with my mom, Linda Hughey. She and mom had a lot of good times together going back to when they worked together at Southern Bell. She and my mom would sometimes together babysit our son Gavin and he adored them both. At the service today, I felt the same pain that moved me to write the following poem when my mom died and wanted to share this with Ms Carol's family, because she touched our lives in her special way. There is no good time to say goodbye, the confusion, the pain, and the question of why. Not April or May, not night or day, there is no good time to feel this way. How to endure a heart that aches, while continuing on with each day that breaks. The gift of your love will never fade or be severed, for you held my hand as a child for a short time and hold my heart forever. God, take good care of thee and keep sending those special memories to me. There is no good time to say goodbye, farewell for now is what this will be, and then I’ll see you again when He calls upon me.
